Emory Doyle Obituary

Emory Charles Doyle, 92, of Lakeland, Fla., and formerly of Orson, passed away on April 22, 2018, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center with his wife and daughter at his side. His wife is the former Bernice Hempstead.

Born in Orson, son of the late Howard and Marguerite Corey Doyle, he was a member of the Orson Methodist Church, and later a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lakeland upon moving to Florida. Emory had a dairy farm in Orson and later owned and operated a dairy bulk tank hauling business. He loved being outdoors. Hunting, fishing, hiking, traveling and golfing were some of his favorite activities. He was a member of Mount Hermon Lodge 472 of the Free and Accepted Masons, Union Dale.

Emory married his soulmate, Bernice Hempstead, in 1947. They had recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with a party hosted by their family. More than 100 friends and family came to honor them.

Also surviving are a daughter, Bonnie Odro (Marvin); three grandsons, David Ittleman, Daniel Ittleman (Ashley) and Michael Ittleman (Francesca); a granddaughter, Beth Brimer (Chris); three great-granddaughters; and three nieces, Kay Davis, Darlene Doyle and Dawn Joyce.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Doyle.

The funeral will be Saturday from the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main St., Forest City, with services at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Wheeler Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Mount.
