Joan DeNike

Joan DeNike, 84, of Forest City, died Thursday March 7th, at Geisinger CMC, Scranton.

Joan was born in Connecticut and graduated Ridgefield High School and the University of South Carolina.  She was an avid animal activist, a lover of all furry four legged critters.  She worked and volunteered with the SPCA.

Joan is survived by her sister, brother and daughter.

As per Joan’s wishes, there will be no funeral services; she will be buried beside her parents, the late William and Mildred Bobbins DeNike, in the Bald Hill Cemetery, Wilton, CT.  Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City.

Those who wish to remember Joan may give donations to the Dessin Animal Shelter, 138 Miller Drive, Honesdale, PA 18431.
