John G. “Jack” Symuleski, 61, of Carbondale, died Friday January 4th at the Regional Hospital of Scranton. His wife is the former Judy Parks; the couple recently celebrated 43 years of marriage.
Born in Elizabeth, NJ, son of the late John and Loretta Borden Symuleski, he was a graduate of Lackawanna Trail High School. He attended the Pennsylvania State University and graduated from Wilkes University with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. He was employed for over 17 years as a machine operator at Proctor & Gamble, Mehoopany. He was a life member of the Fleetville Fire Company. He was an active member of the Andrew Mitchell Hose Co. #1, Carbondale, where he held numerous offices over the years. He was a member of the Firemen's Association of the State of Pennsylvania and a member of the fire brigade at Proctor & Gamble. He was also a member of the Carbondale Volunteer Firefighters’ Relief Association.
Also surviving are a daughter: Melissa Kreitz and husband Dennis, Ephrata; a daughter-in-law: Sharon Symuleski, Peckville; two granddaughters: Evelyn and Isabella; two brothers: David Symuleski and wife Phyllis, Martinsburg, WV; Gregg Symuleski and wife Cathy, Hop Bottom; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a son: Thomas Symuleski.
The funeral will be Wednesday January 9th in the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale, with a blessing service at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm and on Wednesday, from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
