Juliana T. Wildenstein, 66, of Pleasant Mount, died Wednesday at the Forest City Nursing Center after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband, James Wildenstein. The couple would have celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary in December.
Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Julius and Eleanor Golecki Amadio, she was a member of Ascension Parish, Forest City. She was a graduate of Forest City Regional High School, class of 1969, and she attended Empire Beauty School. She was a self-employed dog breeder and groomer, but her most important job was being a wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the American Kennel Club and the Newfoundland Club of America.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff at the Forest City Nursing Center, as well as to Dr. David Tomizic and his staff for the compassionate and outstanding care given to Juliana.
Also surviving are two sons, Jason Wildenstein and wife, Amy, Tallahassee, Fla.; and John Wildenstein and wife, Shannon, Dunmore; two grandchildren, Lexi and Jacob Wildenstein; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Eric Amadio.
The funeral will be Monday with a blessing service at 10 a.m. from the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main St., Forest City.
Friends may call Monday from 9 until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to your local animal shelter.
