Margaret Laura Schempp

Margaret Laura Schempp, 87, formerly of Union Dale, died Saturday December 14th at the Dunmore Health Care Center.  She was the widow of William J. Schempp, Sr., who died in 2012.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Laura Mathers Vadney.  Prior to retirement, she was employed by the Fisher and Porter Company, Philadelphia, as a billing clerk.  Margaret loved to play the piano, and she collected stamps all of her life.  She loved animals, especially cats.  She would show her cats at cat shows later in her life until she could no longer take care of them.

Surviving are three daughters, Susan Bauer, Linda Schempp, and Judith Bryant; two sons: William Schempp, Jr., and Richard Schempp; several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

As per her request, private funeral services were held with interment in Forest Hills Cemetery.  Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street Forest City.
