Attorney Mark J. DeAntonio, 48, of Carbondale, died unexpectedly Monday January 21st at home.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Dr. John E. DeAntonio and Ruth Casterline DeAntonio, R.N., he was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale. He was a graduate of Scranton Preparatory School, Class of 1988. He received his Bachelor’s degree in 1992 from the University of Scranton. He received his Masters in Business Administration from Wilkes University in 1993, and his Juris Doctorate from Thomas Cooley Law School, Lansing, MI, in 1997. Mark was a prominent up-valley attorney, with his law offices located in Carbondale. He was also the Chief Financial Officer of the Crystal Clear Pool Company, Mayfield.
Surviving are Mark’s lifetime companion, April Gallagher, Scranton; a sister Dr. Angela DeAntonio, MD and husband Dr. Timothy Atkinson, DDS, and their daughter Victoria of Mountain Top; brother: John E. DeAntonio, and his wife Jane and their children John, IV and wife Roseann; Robert and his wife Mia, Andrea Piccohini and her husband Brad; and Matthew and his companion Yvette Brady; brother: David DeAntonio and his wife Terri and their two sons David and his wife Taryn; and Dominic and Amanda Kato; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
The funeral will be Friday, January 25th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook St. Carbondale. Interment will follow in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill. Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale. All those attending the funeral Friday are asked to go directly to the church.
