William Moran Obituary

William "Billy" Moran, 78, of Carbondale, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 16th.

Born in Carbondale, son of the late William F. and Mary Norton Moran, he was a graduate of St. Rose High School, Class of 1956, and he attended Lackawanna Junior College, Scranton. He was a veteran of the Pennsylvania National Guard.   He was a member of Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, and the Andrew Mitchell Hose Company #1, Carbondale.  Billy was a well known business man in the community. He is recognized for his dependability and willingness to help anyone in need.

He is survived by a daughter: Laurie J. Houston and husband Greg, Vero Beach, FL; a son: William Moran and a granddaughter Jessica Moran, both of Mesa, AZ; two sisters: Mary Aubel, Vero Beach, FL; Patricia Saikowski and husband John of Springfield, VA; a brother: John Moran and wife Kathryn Mary, Carbondale and Vero Beach, FL; his longtime partner: Anita Bradley; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a grandson: Bill Moran, IV.

The funeral will be Wednesday from the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale.  Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.  Friends may call Tuesday, from 4 to 7 pm.
