Fern Cornall, 88, of Forest City, went to be with her Bill in Heaven on Friday March 21st at the Carbondale Nursing and Rehab Center.  She was the widow of William Cornall, who died in 1996.

Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late James and Agnes Carpenter Painter, she was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Forest City, dedicating her life to the church serving as a senior warden, treasurer, and choir member for over 40 years.  She was the bookkeeper for the Big Chief Market in Forest City for many years, and she retired from the Community Bank and Trust, Forest City, as head teller after over 20 years of employment.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Carbondale Nursing Center for their wonderful care and kindness for four years.  She truly loved so many of you…you know who you are.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bekele and Theresa Micknick and their staff and the staff at Home Health Professionals for their compassionate care.

Surviving are three daughters: Kelley Statkun (Stephen), Union Dale; Kristen Carione (Brian) Glassboro, NJ; Kay Cornall-Walker, Tucson, AZ; five grandchildren: Dana Howley (Chard), Durham, NC; Emily Statkun, Cooks Falls, NY; Laura Statkun, at home; Luke Carione, Cherry Hill, NJ; and Rhiannon Cornall-Walker, Fort Collins, CO; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a sister: Elaine Sparks O’Pecko; a son-in-law: Rick Walker; and her beloved dogs: Beau and Benji.

The funeral will be Tuesday April 1st with services at 10 am in Christ Episcopal Church, Forest City.  Interment will follow in Union Dale Cemetery.  Friends may call at the church from 9am until service time.  Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City.
