Alice M. Jones Davis, 97, formerly of Carbondale and Forest City, died Saturday February 27th at Lackawanna Health Care, Peckville.  She was the widow of Thomas Davis, who died June 1, 1992.

Born in Vandling, daughter of the late Edward Theodore Jones and Dalia Rynearson Jones, she was a graduate of Vandling High School.  She was a member of the Presbyterian faith.  She was a homemaker.

Surviving are two daughters: Joanne Gorton and husband Ronald, Union Dale; Sarah Kerylovicz and husband Leo, Waymart; a son: Edward Davis, Carbondale; 17 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Rita A. Scalzo, who died January 19th; a son: Thomas Davis; two brothers: Mervington Jones and Albert Jones; a granddaughter: Gina Scalzo; a grandson: T.J. Davis; a great grandson: Brian Pisasik; and a daughter-in-law: Jane Davis.

Graveside services will be held in Union Dale Cemetery at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City.
