Alton Borders, II Obituary

Alton C. Borders, II, 80, of Crystal Lake, died Monday June 27th at the Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart.  He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Susan D. Borders.

Born in Manchester, CT, he was the son of the late Alton C. and Beth M. Borders.  He was a United States Navy veteran.  Alton attended the First Presbyterian Church of Carbondale.  Prior to retirement, he was employed as a manufacturing engineer for the Foxboro Company, Foxborough, MA.  He loved his British sports cars and going to shows with his son.  He was a member of the British Car Club of NEPA and the Pittsburg Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club.  He was also a diehard season ticket holder for the New England Patriots for 45 years.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Wayne Woodlands Manor for the compassionate and outstanding care given to Alton.

Also surviving are a son: Craig Day Borders and wife Lisa; poppy to three granddaughters that he loved dearly: Jessica, McKinley, and Madalyn, all of Crystal Lake; a brother: Bruce Borders and wife Nancy, Proctorsville, VT; and his golden retriever: Tucker.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Todd Alton Borders, who died February 26th.

The funeral will be Friday, July 1st in the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale, with services at 4 pm by Pastor Wayne Wolfe.  Friends may call Friday, from 2 pm until service time.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pittsburg Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club, 17 Dickson Lane, Pittsburg, NH 03592 or Wayne Woodlands Manor, 37 Woodlands Drive, Waymart, PA 18472.
