Annamarie P. Rossi

Annamarie P. Rossi, 94, of Livingston, NJ, died Tuesday, December 18th.

Born in Forest City, daughter of the late Bernard and Mary Mikulewicz Baranowski, she was a graduate of Forest City High School, Class of 1942.  After graduation, she moved to New Jersey where she worked for General Electric.  She married Joseph Rossi of Orange, NJ in 1949.  The couple had five children.  Annamarie was extremely proud of her children.  She would say that she instilled in them the best values until they were 18; then the rest was up to them.  While raising her five children, she did the bookkeeping work for the family paint and wallpaper store, “Rossi’s” in Orange.  From 1976 to 1986, she ran “Rossi Decorating Center” in Cedar Grove.

Annamarie was an accomplished home chef.  Her mastery of Italian cooking was beyond gourmet.  She shared her delicious baked goods with her children, friends, schools, hospitals, senior citizens, churches, and rectories.

Annamarie was a devout Catholic.  She was a devoted parishioner of St. Philomena’s and St. Raphael’s Churches in Livingston.  She sought strength through prayer and helped support the poor and needy.  Annamarie traveled in the footsteps of Christ in Jerusalem and Bethlehem; the highlight of her trip was her pilgrimage to Lourdes.

Surviving are her five children: Louis Rossi and wife Amelia; Bernard Rossi; Joann Petroccia and husband John; Annmarie and husband Jeffrey Lorine; and Joseph Rossi and wife Jill; 11 loving grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a brother: Bernard Baranowski. 

The funeral will be Saturday, December 22nd with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Joseph’s Church, Delaware Street, Forest City.  Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Forest City.  Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City.
