Arlene W. Tusar Obituary

 

Arlene W. Tusar, 102, of Vestal, NY and formerly of Forest City, died Tuesday January 21st at Willow Point Nursing Center, Vestal.  She was the widow of Kenneth T. Tusar, who died in 1966.


Born in Forest City, daughter of the late Adolph F. and Loretta Carey Widzon, she was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Johnson City, NY, and a former member of its choir.  She was a graduate of Forest City High School, Class of 1940 and attended the Ridley-Lowell Secretarial School, Binghamton.  Prior to her retirement in 1992, she was employed by the BCT Federal Credit Union, where she was a member of the Supervisory Committee and a member of the Board of Directors.  She was a Willow Point Nursing Home Volunteer. Arlene loved to travel the country with family and friends, and had many stories about her adventures.


Surviving are two brothers: Edward Widzon, Arizona; William Widzon, Forest City, a sister-in-law: Rita Tusar Tolerico, Carbondale and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.


She was also preceded in death by a son: Kenneth J. Tusar;  brother James Widzon and sister Margaret Serowik.

The family would like to thank the staff of North 2 at Willow Point Nursing Home for the excellent care given to Arlene while she was a resident.  Thanks also to niece Linda Kresock for her loving caregiving over the last several years.


The funeral will be Saturday, January 25th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Joseph’s Church, Delaware St., Forest City.  Interment will follow at Saint Agnes Cemetery, Forest City.  Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8pm at the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City, and on Saturday morning at the church from 9 am until mass time.
