Barbara Campbell, 86, of Carlisle and formerly of Lake Idlewild and Carbondale, died Saturday October 7th at the Church of God Home, Carlisle. She was the widow of Mark Campbell, who died in 2008.
Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Idris Ivor and Katherine Webb James , she was a former member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, and a 1955 graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a circulation manager at the Carbondale Public Library. She had previously worked as a teacher’s assistant at Greater Southern Tier Board of Cooperative Educational Services, Hornell, NY.
Surviving are a son: Mark Campbell and wife Trish, Carlisle; five grandchildren: Tyler Campbell and wife Bri, Seattle, WA; Grace Etheridge and husband Nick, Colorado Springs, CO; Brenna Campbell and partner Isaiah Cardenas, Anza, CA; Cole Campbell and wife Desiree, Marietta, CA; Declan Campbell, Anza, CA; two step grandchildren: JT Poznick and Emma Poznick and two great grandchildren; Maggie Cardenas and Ellyza Campbell; a brother: Ken James, Carbondale; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by two sons: James and Michael Campbell.
The funeral will be Friday, October 20th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Interment will follow at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill. Friends may call at the church from 9 am until mass time. Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
