Barbara Langman Frick, formerly of Jermyn, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 3rd surrounded by her loving daughter, Cori Wright, her son-in-law, Steve, and her grandsons, Dylan and Karsyn. She was the widow of the love of her life, Eugene P. Frick, who died in 2011; the couple had been married for 49 years.
Born in 1941 in Carbondale, daughter of the late Dawson and Mary Edith Allen Langman, she was a graduate of Jermyn High School. Barbara was well known as the dispatcher for Jermyn Communications, the predecessor to the Lackawanna County Communications Center, where she dispatched emergency responders for Jermyn, Blakely, Mayfield, and Archbald. Known for her love of reading and knitting, Barbara also won several blue ribbons at the Bloomsburg Fair for her violets. She was a lifelong Phillies fan, watching every game she could. Always willing to help those in need, Barbara was a beloved family member and pillar of the community.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mary, Carol, Tara, and Jaime from Traditional Hospice, as well as healthcare professionals Marci Kowalewski and Jamie Shepard.
Surviving are four daughters: Lisa, Cori, Karen, and Kyra, as well as ten grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Barbara was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shelly.
Due to COVID-19, no funeral services will be held. Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
