Barbara Geiger, 80, of Hop Bottom, died Friday at the Forest City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Forest City.  She was the wife of the late Leroy G. Geiger, who died November 21, 2007.

Born in Yonkers, NY daughter of the late Austin and Mary Mackin Hans, she was a member of Saint Patrick’s Church, Nicholson.  She was a graduate of Hempstead High School, Hempstead, NY.  Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a salesperson in the retail industry, having worked for several stores including Gimbels.

Surviving are two sons: Christopher Geiger and Mark Geiger, both of North Carolina; two daughters: Beth Reynolds, Long Island, NY; and Mary Colombo, Hop Bottom; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and two sisters: Virginia and Ellen.

Graveside services and interment will be Thursday, December 11th in the Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY.  Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City.
