Barbara A. Stanton Obituary

Barbara A. Stanton, 62, of Carbondale, died Monday September 13th at Allied Services Hospice, Scranton.  She was the widow of Michael Stanton, who died in 2008.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Michael and Sophie Doninetz Russen, she was a graduate of Wallenpaupack Area High School.  Prior to her illness, she was employed as a clerk at Brown’s Gas Station, Dunmore.

Surviving are two sisters: Cynthia Russen and Maria Russen; two nieces: Vanessa Grafal and fiancé Greg Piwiniski; Dominique Catalano and fiancé Bob Bordwick.  She was a great aunt to: Gianessa Piwiniski; Aiden and Caleb Bordwick; and is also survived by her two cats: Petey and Sammy.

Our family wishes to express our sincerest thank you to the nurses, doctors, and staff of Allied Hospice Services for their compassion during our time of need. You are outstanding and we will always hold you in our hearts.

As per her request, cremation was held.  Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
