Beverly J. Henning Obituary

Beverly J. Henning, 92, of Carbondale, died on Monday April 15th after a short stay at the Carbondale Nursing Home.  She was the widow of the late William J. Henning who died October 2, 2004; the couple had been married for 41 years.


Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Ralph and Margaret Henry Horne, she was a member of Saint Rose of Lima Church, and a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, both of Carbondale.  After 33 years of service, Beverly retired from Local Corporation, now known as Lockheed Martin, Archbald.  She enjoyed shopping with her late sister-in-law, Ann Horne, traveling, Bingo, and going to the casinos; she also loved to play the piano.  She loved to bake and share her baked goods with family and friends; everyone loved her infamous chocolate cake.  Beverly loved her cats and Irish and Cody.


A very special thank you goes to her caregiver Rosie, niece Laura Horne, and friend Mary Edwards, who all went above and beyond for Beverly over the past couple of years; the family would also like to give a special thanks to all of the staff at the Carbondale Nursing Home for their compassionate care of Beverly during her short stay there.


Surviving are a brother, Robert Horne, Carbondale, who was always there to help her, as well as several sister-in-laws; brother-in-laws; nieces; nephews; cousins, and many close friends.


She was also preceded in death by a sister: Rachel Wallis; and a sister-in-law: Ann Horne.


The funeral will be Friday April 19th from the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale.  Entombment, Our Mother of Sorrows Mausoleum, Finch Hill.  Friends may call Thursday, from 3 to 6 pm.
