Bob P. Andrews

Robert Paul “Bob” Andrews, 68, of Carbondale, died Saturday, August 15th at the Forest City Nursing Center.

Born in Carbondale, son of the late Frank “Squeekie” and Dorothy Fox Andrews, he was a member of Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale.  He was a graduate of St. Rose High School, Class of 1970, and the University of Scranton.  Prior to retirement, he was employed as an activities coordinator at the Farview State Hospital and SCI Waymart.  After retirement, he was employed as a chauffeur, often entertaining those he drove to airports, cruise terminals, and other destinations.

Bob was a kind and generous person who enjoyed the company of others.   His family and friends will remember him for his quick wit, a sense of humor that could lighten most situations, and as the one most likely to have the answer to any sports-related question.  Bob was also the person to turn to if you wanted to know what was going on in Carbondale and the surrounding area.

Surviving are four brothers: Frank and wife Emilia, Bonita Springs, FL; Marty and wife Ann, Greenfield Twp.; William and wife Tracey, Carbondale; Michael, Scranton; three sisters: Mary Gramer, Warrington; Kathleen “Kate” Andrews, Davie, FL; Dorothy Mittan and husband Ray, Ashburn, VA; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his mother and father, aunts and uncles, cousins, and his brother-in-law, Frank Gramer.

The Andrews family especially appreciates the kindness and support shown to Bob by staff members at the Forest City Nursing Center, as well as by his many friends who visited him throughout his extended stay there.

The funeral will be Friday, August 21st with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale.  Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.  Due to current public health policy, a private visitation for family will be held.  Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
