Bridget E. Finnerty Moran, 47, of Clifford Twp., died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday November 3rd.
Born in Scranton, daughter of Deborah A. Kase Finnerty, and Rodger E. Finnerty, she was a member of Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Carbondale, and Wilkes University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with Elementary Education Certification. Bridget also earned a Master of Science degree in Computer Technology, and Special Education Certification from Marywood University. She was employed as a Special Education Teacher at the Forest City Regional School District for 22 years. She was the former President of the Forest City Regional Education Association and current mentor for the High School SADD program. An avid fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Bridget was very proud of her Irish heritage. She was a very kind and empathetic person who often befriended those in need. She also enjoyed golfing.
In addition to her parents, also surviving are her beloved sons: Tom and Jack Moran, both at home, and their father, Tom Moran; an aunt Ellen Walko and husband Michael, and several cousins, including Elizabeth Walko.
She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Ellen and Tom Kase; an aunt: Karen Kase; and a cousin: Michael Walko.
The funeral will be Monday, November 8th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Interment will follow at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill. Friends may call on Sunday, from 4 to 7 pm at the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale. All those attending the funeral on Monday are asked to go directly to the church.
