Carol Ann Rosler, 79, of Carbondale, passed away on Friday October 28th at her home.
Born in 1942 in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Karl and Ann Davies Rosler, who were originally from Carbondale. A graduate of Newark’s East Side High School, Carol went on to work in secretarial work at Travelers Insurance in Newark, and next at Combustion Engineering in Manhattan. She carried fond memories of Newark, and she especially remembered the festive atmosphere of downtown at Christmastime. During her youth, Carol spent many summers at Newton Lake, and she moved to Carbondale with her mother after her father died. She worked at C.B. Tomaine & Company, Carbondale and later at Wegmans in Dickson City. She loved books, music, classic movies, and laughter; she also loved to travel. On one of her journeys, she happily connected with relatives in Wales and England. Carol also had an avid interest in cooking and enjoyed trying her hand at the cuisines of other cultures. She was a devoted daughter and sister who supported a number of charities, with a particular interest in St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Carol is survived by her brother, Laurence Rosler and his wife Tammy Theobald.
The funeral will be Tuesday November 8th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Interment will follow in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen, 200 Penn Avenue, Scranton, PA 18509.
