Carol Ann Ryan, 80, of Carbondale, died Saturday October 25th at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late James and Mary Wengrzynek Moore, she was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Carbondale.  She was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School and Lackawanna Junior College.  She received her Surgical Technician degree from Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre.  Prior to her retirement, she was employed at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale.  Earlier in her career, she was employed at the Pocono Mountain Medical Center.

She is survived by four children: John T. Ryan, Jr., Mount Pocono; Jason Patrick Ryan, Greentown; Kelly Spall and husband David, Carbondale; Paul James Ryan, Carbondale; four grandchildren: Kassidy, James, and Matthew Spall; Dakotah Canell; four sisters: Elizabeth Loughney, Mayfield; Barbara Price, Clarks Summit; Patricia Resine and husband John, Delaware; Terry Talarico and husband Anthony, Fell Twp.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by five sisters: Monnie and Alice Moore; Jean Smith; Cathy Penska; Margaret McDonald; three brothers: James, Joseph, and Francis Moore.

The funeral will be Friday, October 31st, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, to be celebrated by her nephew, Rev. James Price, CP.  Interment will follow at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.  Friends may call Friday morning at the church from 9 am until mass time.  Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
