Carole Lynn Birosak, 81, of Forest City, died Tuesday November 2nd at Geisinger CMC, Scranton. She was the widow of Bernard P. Birosak, who died June 18, 2000.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Thomas and Helene Jones Pollack, she was a member of the former Forest City United Methodist Church, where she used her beautiful singing voice in their choir. She later attended the First United Methodist Church of Carbondale. Prior to retirement, she was employed as a seamstress at the former Pan-Gee Dress Factory, Vandling. She had previously been employed as a secretary at Daystrom, Inc., Archbald, and as a Service Representative for the NEP Telephone Company, Forest City.
Carole had a great devotion to her faith, praying every morning for family and friends. She was very caring and considerate, sending family and friends cards and notes to commemorate special occasions. Known for her beautiful hand writing, she would also send notes containing newspaper clippings or sayings that would have a positive impact and brighten someone’s day. Carole was also known for her daily routine and paying close attention to healthy living.
Surviving are two sons: Bernard Birosak, Carbondale; and Thomas Birosak and wife Molly, Binghamton; two granddaughters: Brittney Newman and husband Shane; and Nicole Kurent; a great grandchild: Judah Newman; a great grandchild on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Saturday November 6th in the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City, with services at 10 am by Pastor Don Perry. Interment will follow in Canaan Corners Cemetery, Waymart. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 3 to 6 pm and on Saturday morning, from 9am until service time.
