Charles Arrowsmith Obituary

Charles B. Arrowsmith, 83, of Forest City, died Saturday December 1st at the Forest City Nursing Center.  His wife is the former June Breese. They were married for 57 years.

Born in Forest City, son of the late James and Matilda Stratford Arrowsmith, he was a graduate of Forest City High School, and a veteran of the United States Coast Guard, having served during the Korean War.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 529, Forest City.  Charles was a member of the Mount Hermon Lodge 472 of the Free and Accepted Masons, Union Dale; and he was the last grand master of the former Forest City Lodge.  He was a devoted lifetime member of Christ Episcopal Church, Forest City, where he spent many happy hours working at the church doing whatever needed to be done. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a construction inspector for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.  Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. 

Also surviving are a son: Reese Arrowsmith, son-in-law, Alexander Collada, Philadelphia; a daughter: Kimberly Parsons, son-in-law, Walter Parsons, Chalfont; a daughter: Leslie Arrowsmith, Roslyn; four grandchildren: Sean and Nicholas Parsons and Hannah and Lily Rupp; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a son: Charles Arrowsmith, Jr.; three brothers: James, Richard and Edward “Teddy” Arrowsmith; and two sisters: Phoeb Freeland and Myrtle Adlis.

The funeral will be Saturday, December 8th in Christ Episcopal Church, 700 Delaware Street, Forest City, with calling hour at 10 am and services at 11 am, to be celebrated by the Rev. William Joseph McGinty.  Interment, Union Dale Cemetery.  Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 700 Delaware Avenue, Forest City, PA.
