Charles S. Bayley, Sr., 68, of Carbondale, died Wednesday October 19th at the Regional Hospital of Scranton. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth Jane “B.J.” Moffitt Bayley.
Born and raised in Carbondale, son of the late Sylvester Nichol and Gladys Brennan Bayley, he was a graduate of Carbondale Area High School, Class of 1973, where he excelled as a football player. Charlie served in the United States Navy on the USS Nashville (LPD 13) for four years. He was a football coach for the UNICO and Blitz Football C team, the Freshman Football Coach for the Carbondale Area Chargers, and an Assistant Coach for the Carbondale Area Chargers. One of the best times that he had was going to a Carolina Panthers game with both of his sons, CJ and Jason. He loved doing scratch off lottery tickets with his daughter Richelle every Sunday morning and spending Saturdays and Sundays watching football with her.
