Charles E. Vanderford, Jr., 80, formerly of Clifford Twp., died Wednesday March 3rd at the Forest City Nursing Center.
Born in Carbondale, son of the late Charles E. and Louise Williams Vanderford, Sr., he was a graduate of Miami Technical High School, Miami, FL. Charles had a long and successful career in Hollywood, working as an audio engineering technician for ABC Studios. During his career, he worked on many projects, including the Oscars, and with numerous stars, including Johnny Carson, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rodgers, and Richard Dawson. He was a member of the National Association of Broadcasters Employees and Technicians, Local 57, Los Angeles, CA. He was previously employed as the chief engineer at WFTL, Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Surviving are two sons: Wayne Vanderford and wife Pamela, Modesto, CA; Lee Vanderford, and companion Amanda, Taft, CA; a daughter: Deborah Holland, Palatka, FL; 7 grandchildren; a sister: Carol Heron and husband Barry, Kingsley; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside services will be held in the spring in Willow View Cemetery, Clifford. Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
