Clare Conmy, 100, of Carbondale, died Wednesday December 7th at Clarks Summit Senior Living.

Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late James and Gertrude Vaughey Conmy, she was a member of Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, where she served on the Finance Council.  She was a graduate of St. Rose Academy, Carbondale, and the Carbondale Business Academy.  Prior to her retirement, she was employed as an auditor for the Internal Revenue Service.  She was a founding member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Carbondale.  She loved to travel with her friends and cousins; her most frequent travel companion was her cousin, Helen Vaughey.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Clarks Summit Senior Living, Compassionate Care Hospice, and Doctors Giovanni Ramos and Neal Davis and their staff for the excellent care given to Clare over the years.

Surviving are two nieces: her caregiver Ruthane Solomon, South Abington Twp.; Anne LaBelle, Liberty Twp., OH; a nephew: Charles Gilmartin, Lakeland, FL; and several grand nieces, grand nephews, and cousins. Clare was especially close to her first-cousin, Sr. Jean Toolan, IHM.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Charles and Gerald Conmy; a sister: Romayne Gilmartin; and a very dear friend: Mary Purcell.

The funeral will be Monday December 12th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale.  Interment will follow in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.  Friends may call Sunday, from 2 to 4 pm at the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale, and on Monday morning at the church from 9:30 am until mass time.
