David J. Daniels, 65, of Carbondale, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 23rd at home following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was affectionately known to his close friends as “Big Bad” for his laid back demeanor.
Born in Rochester, NY, son of the late John “Jack” and Joan Elizabeth Walaski Daniels, he was a 1976 graduate of Carbondale Area High School. After graduation, he was employed by the City of Carbondale, and later at Cinram Corp. in Olyphant for over 20 years, retiring because of his illness. He then worked part time for CC Cleaning, courageously trying to work when in serious pain up until a week before his passing. David was an avid New York Jets and Baltimore Orioles fan. He was a loving brother and uncle who will never be forgotten.
Surviving are two brothers: Christopher Daniels, Carbondale; and John Daniels and wife Marianne, Crystal Lake; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral will be Sunday, November 27th with a blessing service at 6 pm in the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale. Friends may call Sunday from 4 pm until service time.
