David G. Escott Obituary

David G. Escott, 73, of Carbondale, died Monday February 24th at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.  He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Cino.


Born in Carbondale, son of the late Wilbur and Ruth Collins Escott, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Carbondale.  He was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale.  He was employed as a groundskeeper at the Elk View Country Club.  He was previously employed as a mechanic at Escott Auto Care, as a tow truck driver for G&G Towing, Carbondale, and at the former K. Sportswear, Carbondale.  He adored his grandchildren.


Also surviving are a son: David J. Escott and wife Heather, Carbondale; a daughter: Amber Escott and fiancé Bob Swingle, Carbondale; five grandchildren: Matthew, Devin, Ashley, and Ryan Escott and Bobby Swingle; two sisters: Jean Pryal and husband David, Florida; Carol Garbocheski and husband Joseph, Greenfield Twp.; a brother: Bob Escott, Texas; two brother-in-laws: James Cino and wife Patty, Union Dale; Joseph Cino and wife Jodi, Simpson; and several nieces and nephews.


He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Alice Christiansan and her husband Al; Susan Kase and her husband Joseph; two brothers: Wilbur Escott, Jr. and James Escott and his wife Bertha; a sister-in-law: Cathy Cobb.


The funeral will be Saturday, March 1st with services at 10 am in the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.  Spring interment, Canaan Corners Cemetery, Waymart.  Friends may call Friday from 3 to 6 pm and on Saturday morning from 9 am until service time.
