Deborah Schramm, 71, of Carbondale, died Friday July 22nd.
Born in Maspeth, NY, daughter of the late George Hitlin and Virginia Came Martiello, she was a graduate of the Hunter Business School, Long Island. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a bookkeeper for the Windsor Inn, Jermyn. She loved music, especially Dwight Yoakam, Gene Pitney, and Celtic Thunder, movies, and true crime shows. Her favorite movie was the 1945 version of Mildred Pierce. She was always excited to play board games or cards. She loved to laugh and be with her girls, exchange puns and silly jokes with her grandson, and do puzzles and play Wii Bowling with her granddaughter.
Surviving are three daughters: Kristina White and husband Dean, Greenfield Twp.; Amanda Shiffer, Carbondale; and Heather Schramm, Dunmore; two grandchildren: Ronald Shiffer, III and Rebecca Shiffer; a sister: Theresa Hurst and husband John, Hudson, FL; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was also preceded in death by her former husband, Clifford Schramm.
The funeral will be Thursday, July 28th, with services at 4 pm in the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale. Friends may call Thursday, from 2 pm until service time.
