Delores Richards Obituary

Delores Richards, 96, of Forest City, died Tuesday October 7th at Allied Hospice in Scranton after a brief illness. Her husband of 64 years, William, preceded her in death in 2019.

Born in Vandling, daughter of the late Frank and Fannie Krebel Puntar, She was a graduate of Vandling High School, class of 1947 and was a member of Ascension Parish in Forest City. Before retirement, she was employed as a seamstress in the local garment industry. A great encourager to all, she loved Jesus, was a true servant, always putting others first. Never bored, she embraced each day as a gift from God, living a home, out and about, taking time to watch the Yankees, and rooting for her favorite college basketball team, Syracuse. Always up on current events, sharp as a tack, she made every word find puzzle seem easy.

Surviving are three sons: Ronald Richards and wife, Linda, Vandling; Gerald Richards and wife, Ann, Jermyn; and Paul Richards and wife, Barbara, Clifton, Va.; five grandchildren: Sarah Radinsky, Leigh Stevens, Bradley Richards, Elizabeth Dromazos, and Erin Richards; six great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers: John, Frank, Henry, and William; and three sisters: Angeline, Frances, and Mary.

The funeral will be Friday, October 10th, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Joseph’s Church, Delaware Street, Forest City. Interment, St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Forest City.  Friends may call at the church from 9:30 am until mass time. Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main St., Forest City.
