Dorothy Marie Pazel, 98, of Creamton, died Monday July 17th at the Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale.
Born in Vandling, daughter of the late Frank and Emily Riedel Pazel, she was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Honesdale. She was a graduate of Pleasant Mount Vocational School, the Wayne Commercial School, and Southern Illinois University. She was a 20 year veteran of the United States Air Force, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant. While in the Air Force, she was assigned to the Statistical Services Division. Dorothy served both stateside and abroad as a computer programmer, becoming supervisor of her section. After her retirement from the Air Force, she was employed at several area dress factories. She was a member of the American Legion Charles and Martin Skubic Post 524, Forest City. Dorothy had a great love of her dogs, who were always her close companions.
Surviving are several cousins and her friends and neighbors who helped to look after her over the years.
She was also preceded in death by a sister: Ida P. Jones.
The funeral will be Thursday, July 20th with services at 11 am in the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main St., Forest City, to be celebrated by Pastor Adam Reinhardt. Interment with military honors will follow in Riverdale Cemetery, Pleasant Mount. Friends may call Thursday morning, from 9 am until service time.
