Edward Trago Obituary

Edward J. Trago, 78, of Carbondale died Monday, July 29th at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit, Dunmore. His wife, the former Nancy A, Aunger, died in 2016.

Born in Carbondale, he was the son of the late David and Agnes Hornick Trago.

He was a member of Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale and a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale and the Johnson Trade School, Scranton.  Ed was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement, he was a member of IBEW Local 325 and worked as an electrician, traveling every day to Endicott, NY to work.

Ed loved to travel with his wife and family, from cross country trips, snowmobiling yearly in Yellowstone National Park and especially to Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut.  Ed was an avid car collector.  He loved working on old cars and driving them around town.  When his grandchildren arrived, they truly brought out the soft side of Ed.  They were his pride and joy in his later years.

The family would like to thank Dr. Neil Davis and his staff, and the staff of The Hospice of the Sacred Heart, especially Brandi and Kathryn for  the outstanding care given to their father.  Many thanks to neighbor friends who became like family, Nancy, Joe, Joey and Paul Guzzi.  Their watchful eyes and caring hearts were a Godsend to the family.

Surviving are two daughters, Amy Gillott and husband, Mike; and Ann Vadella and husband, Pat, all of Carbondale; a son, Mark Trago, Mesa, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Geno and Sarah Vadella ,a brother William Trago, South Carolina ; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a sister Donna and 3 brothers James, Donald and Robert Trago.
