Elmer Miller Obituary

Elmer L. Miller, 87, of Forest City, died Friday January 22nd at Allied Skilled Nursing Center, Scranton.  He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Lucille Mozeleski, who died March 16, 2020; the couple had been married for 68 years.


Born in Elkdale, son of the late Henry and Gertrude Crandall Miller, he was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Forest City.  Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a saw operator at Rapid Pallet, Jermyn.  He had been previously employed at the Endicott-Johnson Shoe Factory, Forest City.  He greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was an avid New York Yankees fan.


The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Allied Skilled Nursing Center and Dr. Matthew Haley and Joan Cerra, CRNP for the compassionate and excellent care given to Elmer.


Also surviving are a daughter, Cathy Chadwick and husband, James, Scott Twp.; two sons, Richard Miller, Melborne, FL and Edward Miller and wife Diane, Jermyn; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law: John Kalasinski, Forest City; and several nieces and nephews.


He was also preceded in death by a grandson, James Miller.


Due to current public health policy, private funeral services will be held with interment in Lyon Street Cemetery, Union Dale. Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main St., Forest City.
