Elsie Guszick, 103, of Forest City, died Monday August 17th at the Forest City Nursing Center. She was the widow of Stephen “Shag” Guszick, Sr., who died in 1970.
Born in Forest City, daughter of the late Jacob and Adeline Rynearson Houman, she was a former member of the Union Dale Methodist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ruby Chapter #23, Union Dale. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a nurse’s aide at the former St. Joseph’s Hospital, Carbondale.
Surviving are two daughters: Yolanda Clementoni and husband Robert, Clifford Twp.; Diane Vitelli, Manchester, NJ; two sons: Stephen Guszick and wife Louise, Clifford Twp.; David Guszick and companion Mary Tramotin, Culpeper, VA; a sister: Rose Marie Degma, Forest City; 9 grandchildren: Tony Markowsky; Donna Burch; Stephen Guszick, III; Michael Guszick; Robert, Brian, and Melissa Clementoni; Rachael and David Guszick; 10 great grandchildren: Stephen Guszick, IV; Victoria and Max Nieves; Joseph and Adriana Clementoni; Trevor Markowsky; Cassie Bloomer; Bill and Abby Kerl; Emily Burch; two great great grandsons: Logan and Hudson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers: William, Edward, Jacob, Nichols, and Ronald Houman; two sisters: Thereas Karr and Barbara Chamberlin; a son-in-law: Nicholas Vitelli.
The funeral will be Saturday August 22nd in the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City, with services at 11 am by Pastor Donald Perry. Interment will follow at Union Dale Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 9 am until service time.
