Eugene Michael McAndrew, 65, of Greenfield Twp., died Tuesday November 9th at home. He is survived by his wife, the former Nicole Lloyd.
Born in Carbondale, son of the late Francis “Nick” and Elizabeth Teeple McAndrew, he was a member of Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. He was a graduate of Carbondale Area High School. Gene always loved heavy equipment because he was always around the Blue Coal Corporation Coal Breaker in Ashley with his father, Nick McAndrew. Because of that love, Gene went on to start his own excavating business, McAndrew Excavating, Mayfield, alongside his wife Nicole. Gene enjoyed being in the excavating business because he loved meeting different people. He loved being with his wife and family and he loved playing with his dog, Rip. Gene was a great person who would help anyone he met, and he loved telling stories to anyone who would listen.
Also surviving are three children: Joseph; Laura; and Melissa; two brothers: Paul McAndrew and wife Kathy, Lenoxville; Joseph McAndrew and wife Candice, Hershey; four sisters: Ann McLaine and husband William, Virginia; Eileen Parise and husband Joseph, Lenoxville; Mary Darlene Ford and husband Michael, Lenoxville; Joan Makowski and husband Lenny, Greenfield Twp.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
