Florence N. Bennett, 95, of Montrose, died Thursday November 28th at Meadow View Health Care Center, Montrose. She was the widow of Lester Wayne Bennett, who died September 1, 2001.
Born in Scranton on April 14, 1929, daughter of the late William and Leona Russell Hughes, she was a member of the South Montrose Community Church. She was a graduate of Oakland High School. She was a homemaker who enjoyed singing, baking, working in her flowers, and babysitting.
Surviving are a son: Timothy Bennett and wife Linda, Union Dale; two daughters: Sherry Weller and husband Thomas, Montrose; Elaine Modrzejewski, Blossburg; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson: Joshua Weller; one son-in-law: Edward Modrzejewski; a brother: Wendell Hughes; five sisters: Annabelle Anderson; Margaret John; Eleanor White: Marion Reifler; Leona Hancock.
The funeral will be Tuesday, December 3rd with services at 1 pm in the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City, to be celebrated by Rev. Julie Rosensteel. Interment, Union Dale Cemetery. Friends may call from 12 noon until service time.
