Frances Salley, 86, of Carbondale, died Sunday December 5th at home. She was the widow of Anthony J. Salley, who died May 5, 2012.
Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Robert and Helen Gaughan Brennan, she was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, where she was a lector for many years and a member of the choir. She was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale. Prior to retirement, she was employed as a drug and alcohol counselor for Drug and Alcohol Treatment Service, Lourdesmont, and A Better Today. She previously worked as a nurse’s aide at the former St. Joseph’s Hospital, Carbondale.
Surviving are a daughter: Ann Williams, Carbondale; two grandsons: Timothy Williams, Carbondale; Christopher Williams, Annapolis, MD; a great granddaughter: Trinity; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Helen Stoffa and Marian Prodey; and a nephew: Sean Prodey.
The funeral will be Saturday, December 11th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Interment, Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. There will be no public viewing. Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
