Frank Paul Orehek, Jr., 86, of Vandling, died Wednesday January 5th at home. He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret Ann Wojcik; the couple had been married for 64 years.
Born in Browndale, son of the late Frank and Sophie Derbin Orehek, Sr., he was a graduate of Vandling High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a Supervisor at Affiliated Food Distributors. He had previously been employed at the former EJ Shoe Factory, Forest City. Frank served as the former Chief of Police for Vandling Borough, and he also served for many years on Vandling Borough Council. He was a member of the Forest City Bowling League.
Also surviving are two sons: Frank Orehek, III and fiancée Lori Stranieri, Scranton; Mike Orehek and wife Marianne, Scranton; two grandchildren: Marci and Michael Orehek; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother: Thomas Orehek.
As per his request, cremation was held. Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City.
