Frank J. Zajaczkowski Obituary

Frank J. "Rabbit" Zajaczkowski, 82, of Richmondale, died Thursday August 29th at Geisinger CMC, Scranton.  He is survived by his wife, the former Lucille Schultz Eldred; and he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Jule Schimpfle, who died in 2006.

Born in Dickson City, son of the late Floyd and Emilia Yamkowski Zajackowski, he was a member of Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale.  He was a graduate of Dickson City High School.  Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Trane Company, Dunmore, for many years. He worked in several departments and made many friends. It was there that his peers gave him the nickname Rabbit, a nod to his Polish heritage.  Frank took great pride in his home, and enjoyed entertaining family and friends. He also loved the outdoors, and enjoyed many seasons hunting and fishing.

Also surviving are two brothers: Floyd Zajaczkowski, Scranton; Larry Zajaczkowski, Moscow; a son: Frank Severino, Florida; two step daughters: April Quinn, Milford; Susan Urian, Waymart, and their families, and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter: Jeanmarie Clemmerson, a step-son: Jeff Schimpfle; a sister: Mary Ann Zaionczkowski; and a brother: Sylvester Zajaczkowski.

The funeral will be Wednesday, September 4th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale.  Interment will follow at Canaan Corners Cemetery, Waymart.  Friends may call at the church from 9 am until mass time.  Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
