Gary D. Rotherforth, 81, of Forest City, died Friday December 26th at Geisinger CMC, Scranton.

Born in Forest City, son of the late Cyril Rotherforth, he was raised by his paternal grandmother, the late Cora Rotherforth.  He was a graduate of Forest City High School.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Vietnam War era.  He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Forest City.  Prior to retirement, he was employed as a mechanic at Gentex Corp., Simpson.  He was previously a self employed contractor in the construction industry.  He enjoyed driving his yellow Plymouth Prowler around time.  He loved dogs, golf, and playing pool.  He was a loving father.

Surviving are a daughter: Cassandra Bean and husband Kenny, Union Dale; three sons: Ryan Rotherforth and wife Angela, Mesa, AZ; Thomas Kleinbauer, Forest City; Timothy Kowalsky and fiancé Kayli Hineline, Forest City; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a best friend: Tina Bowan, Simpson.

He was also preceded in death by a son: Frank Goerlitz; two brothers: Leroy and David Rotherforth; two sisters: Noreen Swegel and Maxine Bailey.

Friends may call Monday, January 5th from 10 am until 12 noon at the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City.  Private interment and funeral services will take place at Union Dale Cemetery.
