George Edmunds, 69, of Port St. Lucie, FL, died suddenly of cardiac arrest on June 6, 2020 in Port St. Lucie, FL. He was the husband of Miranda Edmunds.
Born in Carbondale on May 30, 1951, son of the late Edmund and Delores Wilce Edmunds, he was a 1969 graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving for 6 years; He then enlisted with the United States Army, serving for 14 years. After his retirement from the military, he took a job at Nu-Co Industries as a dispatcher in Stuart, FL, where he was employed until the time of his death.
George enjoyed golfing, his trips to Pennsylvania, and his trips to the casino. While he was in Carbondale, he greatly enjoyed his daily stop at the Carawanna to have his favorite chili burger.
Also surviving are his daughter: Mandy Edmunds; his son: George Edmunds, both of Florida; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister: Mary McLaughlin, Carbondale; a niece: Lori McLaughlin, Carbondale; and several cousins.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers: E.F. Edmunds and James Edmunds; and a brother-in-law and good buddy: Joe McLaughlin.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, graveside services in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill will be held at a date to be announced. Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
