James Gigliotti, Jr. Obituary

James Gigliotti, Jr., 68, formerly of Carbondale, died Sunday February 18th at Dunmore Health Care.

Born in Carbondale, son of the late Angelo James and Evelyn DeFazio Gigliotti, he was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale.  James was a veteran of the United States Army, completing two tours of duty in Germany and South Korea.  Jim loved sports and the outdoors, including swimming and snow snowmobiling.  While in the service, he volunteered his time to the New York Giants organization in assessing college football talent and preparing scouting reports.  The Giants utilized his information during the pro football drafts.  The information and collaboration with the Giants developed, resulting with the Owners and General Manager twice providing seats along the 50 yard line for Jim and his family.  Jim’s love for his family was unwavering and he was deeply loved by them as well.  He will be missed.

Surviving are a brother: John J. Gigliotti and wife Gloria, Chandler, AZ; two sisters: Karen Schweitzer and husband Ted, Lansdale; Linda Gigliotti, Phoenix, AZ; two nieces: Kamrinne Zelno and husband Allen, Quakertown; Rebekah Gigliotti, Chandler, AZ; two nephews: Jory Poole, Phoenix, AZ; and John Michael Gigliotti, Chandler, AZ; and numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be held in the spring with interment in Jermyn Cemetery.  Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
