James F. Roon, Sr., 60, of Forest City, died Friday May 28th at home surrounded by family after an illness.

Born in Passaic, NJ, he was the son of the late Florence DeLillo Roon.  Prior to his illness he was employed as a cook at several area restaurants.  Jim enjoyed cooking, working on his truck and he loved woodworking.

Also surviving are his fiancée, Michelle Davis; a daughter: Tiffany Roon  and her fiancé Corey Plevyak, Simpson; a step-son Patrick Davis, Binghamton NY; a granddaughter: Raelynn Plevyak; 3 sisters: Barbara DeLillo; Denise Roon; and Helen Dutsar and husband Jim; 4 brothers: Leonard  Boyle; Dennis Roon; Patrick Boyle; and Harry Roon and wife Roxanne; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a son James “Boomer” Roon, Jr.; and a sister Ethel Feiner and her husband Gary.

His family would like to thank Allied Services Home Health Hospice for the outstanding care given to their loved one.

Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City.
