JoAnn Kovaleski

In her ever-loving husband’s arms, our beloved Mom and Grandma, JoAnn Kovaleski, 83, of Richmondale, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2021. JoAnn took God’s hand when she heard His call to welcome her home. Everyone who has had the privilege of meeting and getting to know her can attest to her unconditional love, generosity, and kindness. 

Born in Vandling, daughter of the late Frank and Rose Peterlin Supancik, she was a member of Ascension Parish, Forest City. Additionally, she was a graduate of Vandling High School. Prior to retirement, she was employed as a sewer for Kartri Sales located in Forest City. After retirement, JoAnn continued doing what she loved, being a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. 

She will forever be cherished and remembered by her loving husband of 61 years, John Kovaleski. Two sons: John Kovaleski and wife Sandy, Browndale; Alan Kovaleski and wife Martha, Honey Brook; three daughters: Mary Carol Spinosi and husband Rick, Jefferson Twp.; Jean Marie Cerra and husband Joe, Kingsley; Julie Tomlinson, Peckville; a brother Frank Supancik and wife Elizabeth, Union Dale; 9 grandchildren: Sara Stafford, Kasey Kovaleski, Joseph Cerra, Victoria and Tyler Spinosi, Amanda and Cody Tomlinson, Samantha and Jeremy Kovaleski; and several nieces and nephews. 

She was also preceded in death by two sons: David and Keith Kovaleski; and a sister: Doreen Moran. 

The funeral will be Saturday, January 9th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Joseph’s Church, Delaware St., Forest City. Interment, Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Forest City. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 am until mass time.
