John E. DeAntonio, III Obituary

John E. DeAntonio, III, 64, of Carbondale, died Saturday July 27th at Geisinger CMC, Scranton.  He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jane Butts DeAntonio.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Dr. John E. DeAntonio, II, MD and Ruth Casterline DeAntonio, RN, he was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Carbondale.  He was a graduate of the Scranton Preparatory School.  Prior to retirement, he was employed as a diesel mechanic for Talarico Construction, Carbondale.  John was a wonderful man who would do anything for anyone.  He adored his family, especially his children and grandchildren.  The family will always remember the wonderful memories made with John at Newton Lake.

Also surviving are his four children: John and wife Roseann and their daughter Gianna; Robert and wife Mia and their daughters Antonia and Viviana; Andrea and companion Marty Andrews and her son Santino; Matthew and wife Tiffany; a sister: Dr. Angela DeAntonio, MD and husband Dr. Timothy Atkinson, DDS, and their daughter Victoria; a brother: David DeAntonio  and his wife Terri and their two sons  David and his wife Taryn; and Dominic and wife Amanda; an aunt: Ida Rossi; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.



He was also preceded in death by a brother: Attorney Mark J. DeAntonio.

The funeral will be Thursday, August 1st, from the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Our Lady of the Rosary Parish at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Fallbrook St., Carbondale.  Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.  Friends may call Wednesday, from 4 to 7 pm.
