John P. “Jack” McLaughlin, 85, of Carbondale, died Friday March 28th at the Carbondale Nursing Center surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Carbondale, son of the late John and Anna Natichak McLaughlin, he was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Carbondale. He was a graduate of Saint Rose High School, Class of 1958. He was a veteran of the Pennsylvania National Guard, 109th Infantry. Prior to retirement, he was employed in the maintenance department for the Carbondale Area School District. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are a son: John McLaughlin and wife Carol, Middletown, NY; a daughter: Anne Walsh and husband Jamie, Carbondale; five granddaughters: Colleen Walsh; Morgan Mantione; Mikenna Walsh; Leah McLaughlin; Rachel Whitby; a great grandson: Salvatore Mantione; two sisters: Patricia Horan and husband Bill, Conyngham; Barbara Lutchko and husband Walter, West Milford, NJ; a sister-in-law: Mary McLaughlin, Carbondale; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter: Colleen Novobilski; and two brothers: James and Joseph McLaughlin.
The funeral will be Wednesday April 2nd from the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm.
