John Munch Obituary

John Stevens Munch, died Monday May 23, 2022, in Clarks Green.  He was a native of Texas and is survived by his partner, Karen E. Hornbeck.  

John was born in Darmstadt, Germany to the late Francis John and Mary Elizabeth Stevens Munch.  He graduated from Ysleta High School and the University of Texas at El Paso, where he earned a degree in electrical engineering.  Upon graduation, John worked for General Electric in their Power Systems Division where he remained until retirement. John was a positive influence on all that he encountered. He had a wonderful sense of humor, a generous spirit, and a heart the size of Texas.  He was patient, kind, selfless, and above all a devoted family man.  He was the consummate gentleman willing to help anyone in need. He made a lasting impact on everyone that he touched.  John enjoyed spending time at the farm at Curtis Valley, clock repair, and vintage British cars.

John is also survived by a brother: Paul F. Munch and wife Sharon, Austin, TX and their daughter Danielle Munch Upton, Plano, TX; a brother: David H. Munch, Fredericksburg, TX and his children James and Nicole Munch, both of El Paso, TX; a brother-in-law: Mike Morgan, Burnet, TX, and his daughters Leigh Morgan Lewis, and Becky Morgan Rogers, both of Houston, TX.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Frances Morgan.

The funeral will be Saturday, June 4th, with services at 11 am in St. James Episcopal Church, Dundaff.  Entombment will follow at Old Colonial Mausoleum, Union Dale.

Friends may call Saturday at the church from 10:30 am until service time.  Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City.
