John A. Vojick, 60, of Newton Lake, died Monday December 4th at the Regional Hospital of Scranton, after an illness.
Born in Carbondale, son of the late John J. and Marcella Mooty Vojick, he was a member of Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Carbondale, and received his Bachelors Degree at Kings College. As a student at Sacred Heart, John loved playing basketball, traveling the east coast with his team to play in tournaments. Prior to his illness, he spent multiple decades employed as a Turfgrass Sales Consultant for Andre & Sons Inc., Montrose. He was an active member of the Pocono Turfgrass Association, partaking in many golf tournaments, fundraisers, and ski trips. He was an avid skier who spent a large amount of his time skiing the slopes at Elk Mountain. He enjoyed his time boating on Newton Lake, playing golf, or visiting his second favorite place - Florida. John loved cooking, hosting Sunday family dinners, and spending time with his many friends. The door to his home was always open and the fridge was always full.
Surviving are a son: Chris Vojick (Jill Ebens), Charlotte, NC: a daughter: Melissa Vojick; a Former Spouse: Alex; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother: Joseph Vojick.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Private interment will be held at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill. Friends may call Friday from 3 to 6 pm.
