John A. Wormuth, Jr., 57, of Carbondale, died Sunday December 3rd at home after an illness.
Born in Carbondale, son of Eleanor “Ellie” Zegetasky Wormuth, Carbondale and the late John “Gus” Wormuth, he was a member of Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. He was a graduate of Carbondale Area High School. Prior to his illness, he was employed as a carpenter at the Carriage Barn Custom Builders, Clarks Summit. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was always willing to help his family or friends. He treasured the time that he got to spend with his two grandsons.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the compassionate care given to John.
In addition to his mother, also surviving are two daughters: Cristin Wormuth and husband Randall Williams, Peckville; Ashley Davis and husband Chris, Madison Twp.; two grandsons: Elliott Williams and Rhett Davis; a brother: Scott Wormuth, Carbondale; two nieces: Tori Wormuth and Reece Wormuth; and several aunts and uncles, including a special aunt Ann Marie Zegetasky.
He was also preceded in death by a sister: Susan Wormuth.
The funeral will be Thursday December 14th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Private interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill. Friends may call at the church from 9 am until mass time. Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
