John “Jack” Joseph Bradley, 76, of Carbondale, died Wednesday December 22nd at Geisinger CMC, Scranton. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Maryann Muta, who died April 9, 2012.
Born in Carbondale, son of the late George and Hazel Roche Bradley, he was a member of Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. He was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, and Johnson Technical School, Scranton. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a millwright for the General Dynamics Corporation, Eynon. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Carbondale and the Columbia Hose Company #5, Carbondale. Jack loved spending time with his family, and he took great pride in taking care of his lawn.
Surviving are two sons: Michael Bradley and wife Allison, Jermyn; John Bradley and wife Carissa, Fleetville; two grandchildren: Jacob Bradley and Tiana Bradley; a step grandson: Athin deFuria; a sister: Mary Ann Petrasko and husband Joseph, Clarks Green; a brother; James Steinkirchner, Dallas; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by a brother: James Bradley; a sister: JoAnn Bradley; and a nephew: Christopher Bradley.
The funeral will be Wednesday December 29th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Interment will follow in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday morning, from 9am until mass time. Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
